About

I usually go by Gray. I ended up that way because a half-bajillion Mikes and Michaels also worked everywhere I’ve ever worked, but there’s been relatively few Grays. My wife gets stuck going by Kat because Gray is mine.

I started writing early in middle school. Going through high school and then college, I pursued journalism for a long, long time. Somewhere around college, I sidelined into some math, science, and then ended up landing an awesome job writing for a hip, new internet publication All Things Great and Small.

I grew up with mythology, Dungeons and Dragons, Doctor Who, and all the other sci-fi and fantasy staples you’d expect. I pursued a thriving career in customer service, marketing, and operations for a little over a decade before I gave up that fabulous life to write full-time.

A big list of where my writing has appeared lives below. It’s not everywhere, but these are the places you’ve probably seen me in the last few years. I specialize in consumer tech, productivity, media, and pop culture. I’ve had the good fortune to work some incredibly brilliant people and I look forward to the future.

My first full-length book is due soon, in the first quarter of 2012. While it’s not my first fiction (my previous stuff has been traditionally published), I’m incredibly excited about this novel. I can’t wait to share it with you.
